Central Park is gorgeous, an oasis within the concrete jungle. It’s where you can disappear in New York and find yourself not within a crowd. Where being alone doesn’t feel lonely.
Around Park Avenue Princes and Princesses, tourists and the occasional downtown dweller who ventured up town for the park, the looming canopy is serenity divine.
Bethesda Terrace is one of my favourite places in the park. Situated right off of the Mall it’s architecture and fountain are breath taking. It helps that Chuck and Blair were married there in the final season of Gossip Girl. It all adds to the atmosphere of the preternatural surrounding New York.
It’s easy to sit on the steps overlooking the boat house in central park and romanticize what life would be like if you lived in the city steps away from museum mile. I keep saying that everything about the city makes you dream about living there, but for me it truly does.
