Happy Blogmas Day 2!
I love the holidays and without fail you know I have some steadfast holiday traditions that I do every single year (plus some new ones that have snuck in along the way). Between the holiday movies, holiday drinks at Starbucks and Christmas markets there are a lot of things that happen each year that I look forward to! With having spent the last few Christmases away from home, the tradition of the big family dinner hasn’t exactly been a possibility so to help get me in the holiday spirit no matter where I am here are my traditions!
Each year we usually put up a Christmas tree, I say usually because there have been years where we’ve gone on vacation early in the season so there hasn’t been time to put one up. It’s one of my favourite days of the season, because we will play Christmas music or put on a really corny Christmas movie.
I will without fail at least once during the holiday to watch Love Actually. It’s been a tradition as long as I can remember. It’s the perfect combination of holiday feel good and cheesy romance. Let’s be real… I watch Love Actually a few times per holiday season…
Throughout November and December, holiday markets start to pop up all over the city. My favourite to visit each year (along with the rest of the greater Toronto area’s) is the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District.
The last tradition that I have is Christmas candles! Because we don’t get a “real” Christmas tree each year, the house doesn’t fill up with the smell of pine! To mimic that feel/scent a real Christmas tree would have I like to burn Christmas candles instead!
I hope you guys enjoyed my holiday traditions! Stayed tuned for more blogmas!
xoxo Steph
