It’s my BIRTHDAY!! Today I am 23 and am celebrating in London!
Since my birthday is only a month after New Years I usually try to avoid the “things I learned and things I’m doing differently” post only because in the past I’ve tried to write one and it’s sounded ALOT like my New Years Resolutions. Instead, this year I am going to talk about what I’m grateful for with a few of things I’ve learned.
My Friends
I love my friends and will ride or die for them always, but this was a year where I learned (once again) that not everyone will be ride or die for me. Which is why I’m so thankful for the friends that I can rely upon without fail. This was the year that I reconnected with people who I don’t talk to every single day or even every week and it was like no time had passed at all. I’m grateful for those friends who we don’t need to talk every day to know how important we are to the other.
My Parents
Mom, Dad, I love you both and am thankful for everything you do and have done to give me the best life possible. This month wouldn’t have been possible without your support.
Him
He makes me a better person and without him, I wouldn’t have been able to learn and grow from the events of this past year nearly as well. His rationale perspective, support and never-ending love has been a much-needed counter-balance to my personality.
My Former Friends
I honestly don’t mean this in a negative way, maybe we had a falling out or simply grew apart, but without you, I wouldn’t have learned who I was and who I wanted to surround myself with. Our fights, our heart – to – hearts trying to work on our differences, and the heartbreak losing you as a friend has made me stronger, more assured in what I need in a friendship and though we are no longer close I loved our time together.
Travel
I’ve managed to travel a lot through my 22nd year, the ability to travel as much as I do in addition to the places that I travel is a blessing. I am so so grateful to be in a position to where I can travel, and that travelling is the norm.
Those are a few of the things I am grateful for from my 22nd year! Do you guys enjoy these more personal posts?
xoxo Steph
