With many of us working from home and the possibility of WFH becoming the new normal for many people once we are released from the stay at home parameters… at least part time. I wanted to share some of my WFH productivity tips that I employ for the days when I’m at home studying or working.
Tip #1: Change your clothes.
It doesn’t really matter what you change into you could have day pyjamas and night pyjamas, you could go full glam, seriously doesn’t matter. It’s the act/ritual of differentiating between what you sleep in and what you work in that’s important.
Tip #2: Make your bed
If you don’t make your bed when you wake up on a regular basis… you should start. It’s one of those habits that absolutely works to boost productivity. As an added bonus it helps make your room look cleaner and helps reduce the temptation to crawl back into bed.
Tip #3: Create a separate work space
Having a designated desk or spot to sit while you do work helps set boundaries between your work and home lives.
Tip #4: Don’t work in your bed
I know it’s so tempting to take your laptop to your bed but it’s a really destructive habit for your sleep cycle. Some people can get away with it, but in my experience nothing has ever brought on insomnia more than when I was doing my work from my bed.
Tip #5: Make a routine
Everyone is saying this, which is because it’s true. Having a routine and sticking to it, helps structure out your day. Plan your work and schedule appointments the same way you would if you were working on a client site or at the office.
These are my tips!
Let me know what you’ve been doing to stay productive at home!
