I’ve been thinking a lot about the different types of posts that I want to be creating and the content that I enjoy reading and watching. The standout is monthly favourites, I remember being on vacation in the British Virgin Islands in grade 9 or grade 10 desperately searching for a strong enough wifi signal to watch a Blair Fowler (juicystar07) favourites video. I’ve decided to make these a monthly post, likely the format will rotate between beauty, fashion, and lifestyle because I honestly don’t try or purchase enough in each category each month for it to be monthly and I don’t want to keep listing the same products over and over.
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation
This is a new purchase this month. I actually got it on the 1st which is my birthday as a little treat for myself. I got it to replace my NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, which had been oxidizing weirdly on me. When I first got this foundation I was SO in love with it, it blended beautifully and is the perfect colour for my skin. However, since I’ve been using it frequently I’ve found that it takes ALOT of blending which when I’m in a rush doesn’t make it my top choice.
This foundation is what I would refer to as my “special occasion” foundation. For everyday use, I’m sticking with my All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation but mixing it with a little bit of my GLAMGLOW Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow which has solved my oxidization problems.
Morphe 18 Piece Vegan Brush Set + Other Brushes
It’s been a long time coming that I got a few new makeup brushes… and by a long time I mean I’ve never had the “full” set that we’ve been told that we need.
These brushes are AMAZING. I’ve already noticed such a difference in my makeup application, and now that I have a few more different types of blending brushes, I’m feeling a bit more confident in my eyeshadow application abilities… not saying I’m suddenly a makeup artist or anything.
The amazing thing about the Morphe Brushes is that they are inexpensive in comparison to other brands, and they are amazing quality.
MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Modesty
I’ve recently rediscovered this lipstick in my stash. Normally, I reach for a matte liquid lipstick, but lately when I’ve been out running quick errands I’ve been reaching for it because it’s quick, easy and SO much more comfortable than a liquid lipstick.
What started out as an effort to use up some of my lipstick bullets, turned into the rediscovery of an old favourite.
