Red Lipsticks, in my opinion, are super super festive and really flattering! It’s the perfect time of year to break out your reds or refresh your stock as holiday party looks are best completed with a red lip! In the spirit of the holiday season, I’m going to tell you guys my favourite red lipsticks and formulations so you can confidently wear the perfect red lip!
To start I’m going to breakdown my favourite Blue toned reds! These are probably the most commonly worn red lipsticks as the blue tone has the added benefit of making your teeth look whiter!
My all time favourite is Nars Powermatte Lip Pigment in Starwoman
This matte liquid lip, is by far the most comfortable of all the liquid lip formulas that I’ve tried!
For all you orange-red lovers, my absolute favourite is Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Matte Lipstick
This is the perfect Orange Red. It’s not too matte and it’s uber pigmented! The colour is that great in between red and orange that is universally flattering, especially for those who have a difficult time finding either an orange or a red that suits them!
On the more neutral red side, a brick red is a good staple. This brown-based red is the right shade for those who want a more subdued tone or those who don’t feel comfortable wearing such a bright red as an orange or blue based one.
D for Danger by MAC Cosmetics is the bomb for a brick red.
MAC Lipsticks are pretty much everyone’s starter lipstick formula, and usually remain a staple in every girl’s makeup collection. Super comfortable, semi-hydrating and vanilla scented these are a tried and true favourite.
For those who want just a touch of colour, but want to stay in the red tones. The Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment is a great option. It provides hydration and a little hint of colour!
Sheer and buildable, this red is great for those who either don’t like to wear a lot of makeup or for those who need an added bit of hydration with their lip colour!
