Today’s post is a continuation in my on-going reporting on my experiences shopping online, and the trials and tribulations of Canada’s duty/import tax situation.
I was fairly hesitant to order from Alo Yoga, I’m not super familiar with the quality or fit and it’s not a readily available brand in store here in Canada (Nordstrom pre-pandemic had a few pieces). I did finally take the plunge and ordered from Alo Yoga and wanted to share my thoughts!
First thing: Shipping Times + Free Shipping
My pieces shipped relatively quickly which is always such a positive. Shipping to Canada still can be a multi-week process unless the items are shipping from within Canada and this completely defied that. My items arrived within three business days! Much excitement!
They are offering free shipping to Canada which is LOVELY! Very pleased to see that as paying for shipping to Canada can be so ridiculously expensive.
Import Duties & Taxes
I personally didn’t have to pay any import duties & taxes, however they do specifically disclose that VAT, Duties, and Taxes are not included.
Extras
One of the cool things that you get one month of Alo Moves included complimentary with purchasee.
Negatives
There is only one con, and that is such limited stock so as soon as you see something you like it very much needs to be purchased (if you are looking to pick something up) as things sell out so quickly.
