December is affectionately known by me, myself, and I as red lip month. I don’t know what it is about a red lip, but it’s synonymous with Christmas and I’m not mad about it. I love a dark lip but around the holiday’s I like to amp it up a little.

How To:
After applying my foundation and setting it with Hourglasses Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light, I swept a pink/nude blush over the apples of my cheeks back to my ears. This creates a softer contour while bringing some colour back to my face. To keep everything diffused, I lightly applied a highlighter and then took the brush I used to set my foundation and buffed everything together.
Before I do my eyes, when I’m wearing a bold lip with an intense eye look I apply the lipstick first. The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is so easy to use and wears comfortably. I keep my lips from drying out too much, I prep them with the Jack Black lip balm and throughout the day I will dab the balm over my lips before re-application.
Lips on, I start working on the eyes. Brows are the first to go on; I have some serious roots right now so I think (don’t quote me on this) I can get away with a little thicker and darker brows.
For the keys: Keeping the centre and inner third of the eye free from shadow blend the two matte shades from Urban Decay together and run them through your crease. Wing the shadow out ever so slightly in the outer corners and bring it down under your lower lash line. Taking the dark copper shade from Colour Pop, pat it into the outer third of your eyelid. Run the light copper shade from Urban Decay through the center and inner third. For eyeliner draw a dramatic cat eye and smoke out your lower lash line with a green eyeliner (my attempt at being festive). Finish with your favourite mascara and you’re done!
