Good morning everyone! Today is the penultimate book in the Summer Book Club 🙁 It’s crazy how fast it’s all gone. The beginning of summer seems like yesterday but also like it was a year ago. Time has been so weird. Today’s book is the second in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Trilogy

I LOVE THIS SERIES. I really can’t say it enough. I really do love this series. It’s so cute and adorable and Lara Jean is honestly high school goals – in that she’s actually put together and way more composed than I was at 16.
In this book we see the progression of Lara Jean and Peter go from fake dating, to real dating, to not dating, to actually really dating. You can tell he genuinely really really loves her throughout, but she needs to let go of his past (though sometimes him hanging around Gen is a bit douchey on his part).
I loved how this book touched on family, especially Lara Jean’s mom (who passed when she was younger), we see a much more vulnerable side to her when she really does need her mom. When she’s sitting and talking to her neighbour after the USO party at the retirement home, you can the hole in her life that’s missing. It was a sad moment, and (if you are slightly mushy like me) makes you wonder what your own life would be life without your mom (it’s not good, I’d be a mess and wouldn’t know where anything is in my house). It also shows you how special and important the bond with her sisters is.
I also loved how Jenny Han (the author) brought in the John Ambrose character as another love interest. Not that I don’t love Lara Jean and Peter, but Peter needed to learn that he could lose Lara Jean (just saying). He was such a sweetie and treated Lara Jean so well, even when he knew she was going to end up choosing Peter.
Overall, I love and I’m starting the next book as soon as I finish this post!
